I remember as a young girl in elementary school that we had very little money. I was the youngest of five children and times were tight just like they are for many people today. My mother gave me the best summer ever and didn't spend hardly a dime. She arranged to take us on many mini-field trips throughout our city of Jacksonville. We toured a dairy, a furniture factory, the Lays Potato chip factory, a large bread factory, Maxwell House coffee, a television station and several art galleries. It was something new every couple of days. We spent lots of time in the library too. I will always remember that special summer and how my mother made me appreciate the little things in life.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite memories of my childhood did not cost any money at all. My parents lived on a hill and there was a dairy farm and a creek behind my house. On a warm summer day, my best friend and I would ride our bikes to the creek and collect pretty rocks and look at the fish. Then would ride our bikes to the school playground and play for awhile. Finally, we would go back to one of our houses and drink lemonade sitting under a weeping willow tree and talking about what were going to do when we grew up. My best childhood friend is still my best friend even after 50 years!

ReplyDeleteI spent my summer by going to blizzard beach and typhoon lagoon I also went to magickingdom and went on all of the rides and thats how I spent my summer.
ReplyDeleteHow I spent my summer vacation with only $10.00.I whent to the beach and watched the sunset sparkel as the sand glissend as the clear blue water shimmered as the sun hit it.I also went to coca cola factory i got to see the micheans and how the made this poupular drink.Then my favrait i went to the Smithsonian Museum I learned all these new facts.thats how i spent my summer vacation. how did you spent yours?
ReplyDeleteI would make two phone calls to my friends.Then i would pay dollars to go to the pool five times each a dollar.After that i would use the other three dollars on something special, like buy a book. What would you do ,if you would have to spend summer with $10.00
ReplyDeleteHow I spent my summer vacation with only $10.00.I went to daytona beach for surf camp it dint even cost anything to go except for the surf camp part, but it only cost like $7.00 thats all.I love when I surf in cartoon looking water and the big waves about to drowd me ,but it does't really matter because it's not as scary as you thing.It cost money sometimes at surf camp because we usually eat at a restaurent every Friday it only cost like $3.00.
ReplyDeleteWhat I would do if I had 10 dollars for my summer vacation is buy some lemons,cups,and sugar. These are the ingredients I will use to make fresh,homemade lemonade so I can make some money. then I am going to save up the money that I make from my lemonade business and buy my own phone to have contacts with my friends and family. then I am going to spend my money at the mall to buy something nice for my parents. I had a great summer.
ReplyDeleteHow i spent my summer vacation with only $10.00.I went to daytona beach and swam in the sparkling water.I floated watching the shimmiring sunset go down.I also went to the choclate factory and saw them make smooth choclate out of coco.It looked mouth watering.Then we all got a white choclate candy bar.
ReplyDeleteI would go to my friend's house. Then I would read 7 books in 1 weeko on Quest Atlantis alot. Go to my friend's house also and have sleepovers. And watch televison too. Draw and read more books. And play with my dog and baby bro. It would be super fun with not a cost at all.
ReplyDeleteIf I only had $10.00 to spend for the whole summer. I would probably spend it all on candy and relax because I do not have enough money to by a hotel room or by a movie, plane, fun spot, wet an wild, and aquatica ticket.
ReplyDeleteIf I had only ten dollars to spend in my entire summer. I would share with my friends by texting them to come over to my house. To swim and play indoor and outdoor games. I would use the ten dollars to buy snacks and cold drinks. Everyone who was invited would have a great time!
ReplyDeleteThe beginning of the summer dI would take $3. I would buy a noodle. As I will need it later on in my story. I would take $6 and buy lemons and sugar. I would start a lemonade stand and trade my profits for movie tickets, ice cream and other fun treats. I would take my noodle to the lake . The dollar left I gave to the church.
ReplyDeleteIf i only had 10.00 dollars to spend on summer vacation. I would have to stay home because I wouldn't have enough money to go to a hotel, or some where fancy. What I would do is make ice cold lemonade and some steaming chicken nuggets and lay down drinking my flavorful iced lemonade next to my pool. I know that it may not have my favorite summer but I know it would not be the worst.

ReplyDeleteThis summer I only got 10 dollers. I decided that if i only have ten dollers i shoud not worry about what I should by. I went in my pool, I played with my bird, I also went to my cousins house all for free. At my cousins house we went to the community pool for free, and most exicitinglyit has a water slide.Everything was free! My summer was so fun with even only 10 dollers.
ReplyDeleteIf I only have 10 dollars for summer, I would get a soda; buy some candy rent a movie. I would go to my friend’s house get some ice cream and then spend the rest the rest of the day at the park and then watch the movie and buy a water bottle also
ReplyDeleteThe best thing i did this summer is that i saved three lives.I'll start from the begining i my mom called me down to walk to the mail i said no at first but she convinced me to and i did not regret it.when we were walking back to our house we saw our neiboor scrimaging in the hood of the car my mom asked what he was doing he said he had kittens in his car engine i was taken back but my mom was more suprised than i was.We asked if we could hela there was five. We think the mom was puting them in the car but she did not have time to get on.That was because our neiboor got in and started the car and scared her away but when the neiboor opened the hood because he heard meows one jumped out and followed the mother.My mom had to get one out of the back left tire. Another wasin the engine and there was one that jumped out and went into a hole. We never got to get it out. When I upstairs to get the flashlight, my neighbor used it to find the kitten in the corner of the car's engine. After that we went to the vet and the kittens were taken care of. They are now with happy new families.I didn't spend a penny.
ReplyDeleteThis Summer my mom gave me ten dollars to spend! Ten Dollars!! So I decided insted of spending it, I would do fun stuff that is free, like going to a friends house, or going to the library. But We did do fun stuff like going to South Carolina. At night we caught lightnig bugs and put them in a jar. Swimming is fun if you know someone who has a pool. Vacation Bible School was fun and free. i finally did spend my money. (LOL) When My family went to the zoo. I bought a stuffed animal. Hope you had a geat summer!:)
ReplyDeleteFirst to say you can do alot of things with just 10 dollars over the summer.It might not be alot of money to you,but you can do alot of things with just 10 dollars over my summer, you can buy snow cones with cherry syrup, go to a one dollar movie,And you can invest your money like I did. thats what iI did. See you can do plenty of things with just ten dollars.

ReplyDeleteFirst I spent three cents to get coins to play at they arcade. then went to Chucky Cheese and spent 97 cents to get a lot of coins and got a 167 tickits. then I got invited to my freinds birthday party and he told me to bring a cake so I bought a cake that was 3 dollars. and then I went in the woods and found a little kitten and I picked him up and brought him home with me. and at the end of my summer break I went to north carolina to see my aunt and my mom was 6 dollars short so I gave her my last 6 dollars to go and i noticed how fun it was on my first plane ride.
